Community Service Committee
The Community Service Committee (CSC) plays a central role in helping the Metropolitan Board fulfill its mission. CSC members are responsible for planning and executing community service projects that engage the membership, foster camaraderie, and help the Chicago Urban League and the Metropolitan Board achieve its social and civic goals. Past projects including Teen Summit, Living Room Café, and Adopt-a-Family, have helped to improve the health and well-being of children and families; educate and empower citizens; and improve the quality of life for many Chicagoans.

Personal and Professional Development Committee
The Personal and Professional Development Committee (PPD) exists to facilitate Metropolitan Board members in achieving career advancement and personal development goals. Our mission is to produce programming which will develop our members into well-rounded professionals endowed to function as global leaders. From climbing the corporate ladder to enhancing personal wealth, the PPD committee is devoted to equipping members with the skills and tools necessary to successfully navigate life.
The Metropolitan Board’s members are considered future leaders. To that end, it is one of our primary focuses to aid our members in preparation of this purpose. Personal and Professional Development events are some of the ways we prepare our membership. These information seminars and educational series are designed to enhance each member’s personal and professional lives. In addition, members have the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills to the entire body. From life coaching to income tax informational to business etiquette practices, PPD’s expose members to new experiences that will balance their lives as they prepare to take their place as leaders.
If you are interested in hosting a PPD event or have an idea, please contact ppd@metroboard.org.
